How to type an ellipsis

To type an ellipsis, you could simply type three full stops in a row (with no spaces between). However, this isn’t a proper ellipsis. If you want to use ellipses, use proper ones – your editor will be grateful.

On a Mac, type an ellipsis by pressing option+; (semi-colon).

On Windows, type an ellipsis by holding down Alt while pressing, in sequence, on the number pad of your keyboard 0133.

In the Microsoft Office range of software on Windows, you can type Ctrl+Alt+. (full stop).
