To type an ellipsis, you could simply type three full stops in a row (with no spaces between). However, this isn’t a proper ellipsis. If you want to use ellipses, use proper ones – your editor will be grateful.
On a Mac, type an ellipsis by pressing option+; (semi-colon).
On Windows, type an ellipsis by holding down Alt while pressing, in sequence, on the number pad of your keyboard 0→1→3→3.
In the Microsoft Office range of software on Windows, you can type Ctrl+Alt+. (full stop).
